I see it's listed in Livestock. I would imagine that a bull or stallion
emits quite a bit, and it looks like the tank holds 6 separate canisters.

Those files are mainly for manual a/c, Casey. I've scanned the wiring
diagram from my paper manual for acc2, stripped from list copy, which
I think might provide much of what you need. 83.8-603/15. Those
things aren't really legible in the cd version anyway.

wish I had more time, money and parking spots. That is one I would bid on. I
will bet that the 6 cylinder gas

This looks exactly like my first Mercedes (except the paint on mine was
perfect - the PO was as obsessive as I am). I loved that car. It over
470,000 miles when it died, the oil pump blew up on the highway, lost
oil pressure and the engine was turned into a hunk of useless metal. By
that point, I had sold it to a friend of mine who drove it for three
years and sold it to another friend of ours. I miss the old car. This
is the car that made me love Mercedes.

Well, in high-horsepower big trucks (700+ HP and 2500+ lb-ft) the
reliable word is "use the big horsepower only in the high gears"

In otherwords, even thought the transmission is not rated for that much
power, the danger is only when that torque is multiplied by the
transmission gear ratio.

So, I suspect the same is true for us. Thus if you plan on
foot-to-the-floor, 5000 RPM, max torque in 1st gear - you could have a
problem! But if you go easy in 1st and don't wail on it until 3rd, my
_guess_ is the transmission will be fine.

If not, I did suggest a thing!! *grin*

I actually drive all my MBs with the vacuum line to the transmission
disconnected and plugged. I much prefer the firm shifts, but even with the
vacuum disconnected my w126 is too "Buick" for my tastes, on the way up.
It's pretty firm on the downshifts, tho.

Hey, can someone with a 123 CD* post one or all of the following pdfs--I
have no idea how large these files are, so whichever contains the most
descriptive data for the A/C system in my '84 300D.

83-500

83-508
83-510

I'm operating double-blind here, since I barely know A/C and don't know the

the car, but when I attach it, the compressor runs whenever the key is
switched on--irrespective of system charge level.

2. Do I have ANY hope of successfully using the original 240d tranny

perfect in every way, right now. Right now no one has any decent used
transmissions around here, and I don't imagine our listmom is drooling
to ship any of his up here to Kanuckistan :-0

*grin*

Curt,

Your oil cooler has sprung a high pressure leak. The oil cooler is
bolted to
the driver side of the radiator & that's why you see oil on the hood.
You
need to replace the cooler before the hole opens up more. A good used
one
makes a great replacement since they rarely fail. Maybe Kaleb has one
laying
around at a reasonable price?

By the way, this had nothing to do with your Mobil-1.

Since the bleed fittings are different sizes on brake and clutch
slaves I have a length of clear hose, two small hose clamps and the
appropriate size 1/4 socket (for the hose clamps), stashed in a zip
lock. The extra time needed to mess with those tiny clamps is
compensated for by not having to crawl under there and reattach the
hose, or getting a brake fluid shower. Also taking off the wheel
makes it easier.

Brass radiators can be re-cored, usually for somewhat less than
a new one. Most larger cities seem to sport at least one place

I was at Schuck's (local McFLAPS) today buying a 190D cyclopean
wiper blade, and they had a 'case' of M1 15W50 there. Dunno what
the price was, but Delo was $9/gallon.

The trunk of the SDL has plenty of room for an engine in pieces --

What an offer! Unfortunately we're going to be in the SDL this trip,
though I might take you up on that offer, using my brother's place as
a staging area.

Now Chuck, you know if you go with that Castrol stuff you will have to
remove that M1 sticker you have under the 500E hood.

I'd prefer the Mobil 1 - if there's an AutoZone in your area give them a
call - their stores seem to carry it more than the others - I bought 7 qts
this morning and there was plenty more - their website csan be helpful
locating a store with the inventory you need.
