No, you only have to purchase the correct connectors. The NA-spec lights use a four-pin connector, but the euro lights want a six-pin connector (plug). However, the lights will work fine using your existing harness. You just have to swap the connectors and reconfigure the layout of the pins

Richard, Trampas - Many folks, have suggested that the most cost effective repair may be obtaining a good used box. They go for about $100 or so. I had the one in my 107 rebuilt by a retired M/B mechanic that did them as a hobby and for a few extra retirement bucks. It has worked just fine so far.
