Actually Phillip, the exact opposite is true with diesel engines and manual transmissions. Most failures I have encountered occured due to very high temperatures generated by large amounts of torque running in high gears. There is MUCH more stress on the input and mainshaft bearings of a manual

I've seen instances where Credit Card payments were reversed 18 months after the original transaction. Most common is for the buyer to claim the transaction was fraudulent - that is a guaranteed chargeback no matter who you have the merchant account with. There is no recourse for the seller other

Seems I'll be doing a tail shaft seal... Is it very tough? Will I need any special tools (other than the tranny lift) to perform this? I don't think you need any special tools to do a tailshaft seal, except whatever socket you need to release the nut. The tranny stays in place. -- Jim
