From memory the use of lubricants other than graphite powder is a no
no, if you want to use a liquid perhaps ATF is the best.
However I have never been able to figure out how a cable can produce a
bouncing effect.

I changed the 2 part grommet on my 91 a few days ago - the low piece goes
onto the antenna after it is removed from the fender, then the antenna is
inserted and the upper piece of grmmet can be installed. I used silicon and
everything slid on easily - getting the grommet to snap into place
I took some JB Weld and glued the key into the keyway and made the
hole a bit smalller. It took some fitting with a file and some
sandpaper but now everything fits tightly again. I was concerned about
strength but I mowed the lawn and everything was fine. It's not
ShoeGoo but not bad...

I don't think it would be that hard to stuff a 4BT in there, but you'd need to
do some measuring first. You'd

Even the height might be a problem. To make matters worse, a LA or magnum
chrysler v8 is fairly narrow, so v8 diesel swaps might not be an option.

After much welding, hammering, grinding and all. The second rear jack point is
complete. This one took more metal but I did manage to retain one of the
factory drains that I had to lose on the other side.
Lessons learned:
