Looked at nice 300SD today, current owner has had it since 99, seems to
have taken good care of it, about 200k miles (he pushed the trip odo
while moving and broke the odo gears). Needs a couple of small things,
but runs very well, very powerful, no smoke. Just replaced the front
glass
Appears to be leaking around the rear window seal, the metal under the
window/deck is a bit rusty and the trunk a bit dampish. The seal
looked pretty good, not rotted or cracked, but I guess it should be
replaced. How big a deal is that?
If there is visible rust anywhere due to this leak,
on how to disable and/or fix the problem
Much appreciated!

It's worth a try with M1, but I found that the lifter noise in my

Yes, there is a small internal battery. If the battery is dead and it
looses power, it will lock the radio. If the radio is removed while the

If there is visible rust anywhere due to this leak, the channel itself
will likely be very rusty, which will only show once the window and

Probably, if the alarm was not set.
What happens is that IF the alarm is set and power is lost to the
radio, the radio will go blank and not respond to the faceplate
controls. Later models require entering a code, earlier models
require a tool (which the dealer has).
