Yeah they're glued on. One side on my 240D did it. I drilled a couple holes and
ran some screws in. Ugly but not any uglier than the rest of the car...
At first you might say "well gluing is a stupid way to hold the bumper on, the
glue fails!"

My 240D did the same thing some years ago, same symptoms and everything. In my
case the oil cap had gotten loose somehow. I added oil, replaced the cap
tightly and it never happened again...

Are you talking about the cap for the oil pump drive? That should be
easy to reseal. If memory serves, it is an aluminum ring. Just
clean, pull the cap, clean everything, and put it back together with
a new seal.
The larger issue is the oil escaping from the big bolt near the fuel
filte
I knew about getting stopped for speeding in red cars, (don't ask me how I

A very loud injector knock, rough idle, and NO SMOKE. It's about as
