I'd start by testing the voltage at the battery. Could be just a ground fault
at the dashpod. My 123 240D has one, I ran an extra ground wire to a screw on a
metal part of the pod and its been cured for 4 years now. I put a disconnect in
the line so I can easily remove the pod.

I am not familiar with that term. Stall/spin accidents are very well known
and what causes them is well known and yet they happen.
The plug wire thing happened on my 1978 MGB. Last spring when I took
it out of storage it was missing something fierce. I thought i had a
fouled plug, stuck valve, or bad cylinder. After much fooling around
I switched the plug wire and it has been working great ever since.
