It does indeed just slide off, it'll probably have a clamp that needs removing first. I spray it full of carb cleaner and then shoot air through it. While thats drying take a rag and the air hose and shoot air in through the fuel fillter which *should* blow crud out of the tube. Alternately yo

Fred has a theory that if you don't use windows frequently enough the lubrication gets out of the bearings in the motor and they stick. In which case if you got SWMBO to hold the up control while you lifted the window it might operate enough to get the window up... My 240D had a similar problem
