Could be the flex disks. Those will make a horrid noise on failure and still
allow you to drive. No idea how that would impact ABS or ASD, other than
destroying brake lines

Our prices are headed that way. last fueling was 4.28/gal. California and WA
distillers have had technical issues which reduced supply. Tropical storms
will reduce raw oil flow into the south. Alaska is switching over to shale
from the easy to get crude which has been headed to asia anyway.

Agreed. It is not uncommon at all to buy diesel in the morning and come
back later in the day to find the price 20 cents higher, or even lower
sometimes. $.05 we don't even notice anymore.
