Quartz clocks have one of two problems:
1) bad capacitors
2) broken axle on one of the plastic gears.
I have fixed both of these with great success.

and never reset a Trip Meter while moving. i wouldn't expect both the
main Odo and Trip Meter to stick together even if i had.
