Also I think it would have been better if you had kept your customers
informed as to the situation, not go silent for a couple of months with
outstanding debts/undelivered parts, particulalry you left Rusty in the

Rusty came on this list and basically apologised on your behalf, why
should he have done that?
Anyway I think you're first step is to talk to Rusty and then go from
there, if you want to have any chance of getting trust here, you need to
satisfy Rusty that the things that happened where beyond your control,
at the very least you owe Rusty a big apology for tarnishing his reputation.

It would also be beneficial if folks paid some attention to I-net etiquette and
not copy/paste the entire previous conversation(s) on the subject as all you're
doing is using up bandwidth.

[MBZ] rare mercedes content, not about parts dealers

Folks,

Sorry if this is on the topic of mercedes cars

Do any of you have a decent extra steering wheel for a 123 car ? By
decent, i mean one that is smooth all the way around and has an intact
covering ... factory wheel

The steering wheel on my 1982 300td has developed a tear in the
covering at about 12:00 ... i glued it with rubber cement and it
didn't seem to take.

thanks,

Try shoe goo for the repair, it will hold much better than rubber

For a complicated curve piece such as a steering wheel.. shoe goo works
best if the offending pieces are held in intimate contact with each other
during the cure..
No clamping action directly equates to failed fix.

My experience with steering wheels is to apply shoe goo [or other adhesive
of choice] then wrap the wheel tightly with kitchen plastic wrap during the
cure phase. This ensures all the odd bits are pressed into place and held
rather tightly during the cure thus giving satisfaction.

The steering wheel on my 1982 300td has developed a tear in the covering

take.
