Here, if it has asbestos, it HAS to come out.

If it's more than 20 yrs old.. it has asbestos... certainly, because that
is what was sold.

If it's less than 20 yrs old.. it may still have asbestos, so it still has
to be checked. Then removed with full HAZMAT rules in place.. house sealed,
pressurized, full pressure suits with the whole business. Then the removed
material has to be disposed of as HAZMAT material.

Think, mesotheloma [sp] cancer.. let someone else do it with all the right
stuff.. you'll be glad you did.

It's not "popcorn" (with the little foam-looking spheres) - looks like

Depending upon the stuff involved, you might want to get it tested for
asbestos. Some of the acoustical ceiling spray had lots of asbestos in
it.

If it doesn't contain asbestos, I would take it off. If it does contain
asbestos, I would still take it off, but only with the proper setup and
protective gear (like we did in our kitchen here in New Mexico).

Starting with a clean slate (or ceiling) sounds like the best idea.

Re: [MBZ] [Banned] the irony of it (watch related)

2013-10-24 Thread Andrew Strasfogel
My daily timepiece is a restored Wittnauer self-wind from the 60s. I also
have a Longines Grand Prix SW that keeps running for 36 hours after I
remove it from my wrist and put it on the dresser top. How did they do it?

My favorite SW, a vintage WIttnauer stainless steel with date, doesn't run
and may have a broken main spring. Anyone know how to fix it?

[MBZ] : Re: Alone again

2013-10-24 Thread Curt Raymond
Oh a wise guy.

I use my cell for my alarm clock when I travel (I have a Stephen Fry talking
alarm clock at home). No more failing to get up because of a miss-set alarm.

It's a little known secret that cell phones have power buttons - you can

You should go to some movies in Chatsworth

Anybody ever wants to go see Springer in CT we've got a system there and
they're always begging us to go. I guess its hard to get enough bodies in
there...

Strangely I've never been to a movie in Burbank but I'm always here by myself
and I dislike going to the movies by myself.
Tomorrow night its dinner with the online editor from "Deadliest Catch".

If you're in Burbank and can get out of work early you can go get tickets and
sit in on a Tonight Show taping. I used to stay at a hotel close to NBC and a
really nice mall that had an amazing movie theater with really nice seating.

Fun neighborhood with lots to do. You should look up Gay Larry and go clubbing.
He knows some really good places.
