$2.89 Diesel and $1.99 Benzin. They seem to be
holding Diesel fuel at 90ยข over Benzin.

I suspect that there is a rather constant demand from the truckers, and Jet
A comes from the same base stock. Those two alone can prop the price up.
The price from the wholesaler might be way down, but the stations see no
reason to lower it for us.

Ugh, we're still sitting at $3.29 for #2. Gas went down Wednesday to $2.59.
I've never seen the spread between gas and diesel this high. Its been quite
warm here (for December) so I don't see home heating fuel as an adequate

Was that you sitting next to me in the French restaurant in Georgetown,
who explained to me the proper French term for tap water, when I called
it ead de tap? The guy was somewhat offended at my rube-ishness when I
told him I preferred eau de tap.

I saw under $0.15/gal. in OK during those gas wars - my 1951 VW bug would
not take a full $1.00 of fuel (all I had that day).

Not to date myself, but I recall the gas wars of the 1960s between NYC and
Boston (forget which road) where the gas stations were all lined up and
madly competing on price. Cheapest price was 22 cents/gallon.
