Re: [MBZ] OT - Cessna 172/182/

There are both 206 and 185 turboprops. My guess is that it is one of the two.

I've read recently that Cessna is revamping it's engine selection to
something completely new. The engine design currently used is all based on
engines which were certified back in about 1930, and the world of fuels
  and
engines has changed a lot in the 80 + years since then. One report I
  looked
at said they were considering an all diesel fleet which would shift the
supply of harder to get aviation gasoline to a single jet A fuel
  requirement.

Perhaps, what you are seeing is one of those new production aircraft...
Better get over to the Airport and have a look..
  ;))

BTW, it's passing rapidly overhead as I write.

[MBZ] Current Star

2015-05-17 Thread Curly McLain via Mercedes
The prior issue of the Star was great, with several articles about
the 300SL.THis issue has many good articles and interesting
tidbits.

We've all heard of Fangio, But have you heard of Ewy Rosqvist? I had
not. Rosqvist and co-driver Wirth won the 1962 Argentine rally in a
220SE. The 111 and 110 chassis were very respectable rally cars and
unpaved road cars. I know I could tear down the gravel roads at
70 in my 110. Anyhow, it was a great article in the Star.

Story

Also an article about the new museum in Stuttgart.

Article about the C43 (as an old car)

Article about a 1980 240D (just right for many of us.) Mao,
Dimitri, Curt, Philip and others.

And an article about a guy turning a 300SE (112) into a moderized
supercar Part of a series about the project.
