All you have to do (now anyway) is to NOT connect your phone to the car. You can also turn off Bluetooth when in/near the car. Of course, all this will change in the next year or two when that cars all come with cellular connections that you won't be able to turn off, giving the manufacturer full control as they wish, and the hackers an easier target . . . This is like Floriduhs last gubernatorial election. Scott, the former healthcare syndicate CEO who avoided prosecution, got back into office because Charlie Crist and others decided they wanted to play in the sandbox all at the same time. It split the dissenting vote into a bunch of little factions, all far too small to be a threat to Skeletor Scott. Right now, the Republicans have so many potential candidates that are all trying to appeal to various blocks of voters that if the election happened today they wouldn't have anything remotely approaching a majority. Not to mention that The Donald keeps dredging up topics none of the others want to address, keeping them miles away from any sort of meaningful public discussions. Another way to look at it: R's get all the in-fighting out of their system now, by next spring there should be a clear winner or maybe just a couple, then plenty of time to get over the hurt feelings and get to work. Die-hard R's and D's can't be swayed, but independents sometimes wait until the last couple of months or even less before they start paying attention. Grant, You might try chatting up Randy Steele at EPS, Ltd. You can google that to find his web site and contact info. Randy has a warehouse full of NOS stuff, but I don't know how much of it is W123 related. Can't hurt to ask. Tell him I told you to contact him. That will make the prices go up, I suspect. I had a W123 coupe once. An 85 model, it was fully dressed out and I tweaked it as much as possible. Despite being a diesel, it would haul *ss big time. At the moment, I lean towards doing a build blog site, which hopefully a computer literate friend will set up and run, just to keep a running commentary and parts source list for the build. I'll advise you if that gets up and running. My thought is it would be a handy place to house progress pictures, etc.. Owning a fully restored Coupe has been on my Mercedes bucket list for years. Filed an FOIA request with FEMA a year ago May to get additional documentation on my property relative to flood maps. Got a confirmation letter within a few days afterwards, outlining the statutory requirement for them to respond to me within 20 business days. [MBZ] Computer Lawyer
Silicon Valley company starts to take court disputes online . SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- Imagine working out a divorce without hiring an attorney or stepping into court or disputing the tax assessment on your home completely online. A Silicon Valley company is starting to make both possibilities a reality with software that experts say represents the next wave of technology in which the law is turned into computer code that can solve legal battles without the need for a judge or attorney. We're not quite at the Google car stage in law, but there are no conceptual or technical barriers to what we're talking about, said Oliver Goodenough, director of the Center for Legal Innovation at Vermont Law School, referring to Google's self-driving car. The computer programs, at least initially, have the ability to relieve overburdened courts of small claims cases, traffic fines and some family law matters. But Goodenough and other experts envision a future in which even more complicated disputes are resolved online, and they say San Jose, California-based Modria has gone far in developing software to realize that. There is a version of the future when computers get so good that we trust them to play this role in our society, and it lets us get justice to more people because it's cheaper and more transparent, said Colin Rule, Modria's co-founder. Officials in Ohio are using Modria's software to resolve disputes over tax assessments and keep them out of court, and a New York-based arbitration association has deployed it to settle medical claims arising from certain types of car crashes. In the Netherlands, Modria software is being used to guide people through their divorces. The program walks couples through more than two dozen questions, including how they want to co-parent any children they have. It suggests values for spousal support and notes areas of agreement. A second module allows them to negotiate areas of disagreement. If they reach a resolution, they can print up divorce papers that are then reviewed by an attorney to make sure neither side is giving away too much before they are filed in court. Hundreds of couples have gone through the system since it launched in February, said Larry Friedberg, Modria's chief marketing officer. Modria's founders initially developed their software to help eBay and PayPal solve customer complaints about damaged goods or late deliveries without employing teams of customer service representatives. At eBay, Rule said his system was resolving 60 million disputes a year. He co-founded Modria in 2011. Although the company's focus is on selling its technology to e-commerce businesses, Rule said he is passionate about deploying it to courts. I can build great tools that represent the cutting edge of technology and extend it into the legal sector where none of that expertise resides, he said. A Michigan company, Court Innovations, is using similar technology to resolve traffic disputes. In four court districts in the state, people ticketed on suspicion of running a red light or speeding can go online and provide an explanation in hopes of getting the ticket thrown out or a lower fine. Prosecutors review the information and make a decision that can be transmitted electronically to the alleged scofflaw for acceptance or rejection, said MJ Cartwright, the company's CEO. The system has had more than 800 users so far, almost all of whom have resolved their cases online, she said. When you're online, there's a lot you don't know about that person such as their race and other things that can cloud the decision-making process, she said. Technology such as Modria's can provide legal support to people and businesses that have written off lawyers and the court system as too expensive and tedious and would otherwise try to resolve their disputes on their own, said Larry Bridgesmith, a law professor at Vanderbilt Law School in Tennessee who focuses on dispute resolution strategies. The American Bar Association recommended Bridgesmith as an expert on the subject. The technology won't do away with attorneys, but it will require them to adapt, he said. If lawyers begin to understand that those are tools they can use to lower the costs of entry into the legal system ... they can get back in the business of serving clients who are presently not served, he said. http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/U/US_ONLINE_COURTS?SITE=FLINV ___ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com

Re: [MBZ] You Can Bruise City Hall
I've been on the receiving end of those, while serving in the military, and we jumped through hopes like you wouldn't believe to get those answered on or before the deadline. Of course, flag level officers need congressional support to get flag and keep flag and make the next flag... Too bad Congress can't / won't fire very many federal employees at places like FEMA for similar transgressions. I guess a bunch in the IRS that worked for/with Louis Lerner in suppressing the tea party groups got the axe, that surprised me. - Max Charleston SC ___ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com

Actually on the whole I'm finding the whole deal pretty boring, its 2012 all over again but this time the Dems are killing each other as much as the Reps. Re: [MBZ] No start.
Definitely worth holding onto for spares if you've got the space. At a minimum, I would keep the complete engine/transmission/differential/rear hatch assembly/tail lights/rear bumper. If the interior is decent, the carpet is unique as well as the rear seats and back, but gasser models of newer vintage are out there too. Take a close look at the rear sub-frame bushings on both wagons. The body sheet metal was too thin / weak from the factory in the first years of the 124 wagon, and those bushing seats are subject to cracking. - Max Charleston SC On Wed, Jul 22, 2015 at 8:07 AM, Fred Moir via Mercedes mercedes@okiebenz.com wrote: Max.Not decided yet, though as a rust bitten car it will not be very valuable.More to come. ___ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com

http://www.wnd.com/2015/07/mccain-and-the-pow-cover-up/ The above link may lay out some of the un-resolved McCain issues. As a party of the other side of the isle, you may find it of interest. McCain is not a shoe in ever again after the past 2 yrs of failing to preform for his electorate. He has been effective at disguising the black cloud that follows him every were.. however, it has caught up with him again.. Censured by the Republican party in AZ... AND the National Republican Party as well... I was the primary care giver for the widow of one of the missing vets in Vietnam for the past 2 yrs while she died of cancer. One of her last requests was that I find the true and whole story of what actually happened to her husband, who was also a service friend of mine. He, and 9 men under his command all went MIA at the same time. As you will see from the link above, McCain has done his best to ensure that will not happen, along with John I write my own purple hearts Kerry. Upon reflection and review of the true facts.. Trump may have been both brutal and honest. Mercedes question: Anyone know where I can buy new headlight surround assemblies for my new 82 300 CD Coupe? Also tailights.. and turn lights.. Hopefully not made in China? Grant... Stealership, fleabay, classic center Sir, Thank you once again for illuminating the facts. McLame is despicable IMHO, for many reasons, and you have just illuminated more. This coverup is what moved mclame in my mind from nauseating to despicable. He is maybe only one step above Kerry mcHeinz. There is nothing lower than kerry that I can think of. As I have said before, I don't think trump is historically illiterate.
