I just did a nationwide craikslist search for 240Ds... Its a LOT different from the last time I did that several years ago. Used to be lots of 240Ds. Tonight, only 3 cars listed within the past week. I did, it took most of a day to get everything installed. Each lift I made over about half an hour. This was probably the most straightforward lift I've ever done, we actually ended up only lifting the kitchen floor, I couldn't see any difference in the walls at all. I did read on the internet about one fellow who lost the charge of hydrocarbon refrigerant in a leak next to the engine air cleaner intake, so the engine ingested all the gas and ran away, destroying the engine. I can see how the engine could overspeed and self destruct when the injection pump / governor is not controlling the fuel. [MBZ] OT - Paris Island
I've never thought I was mentally and physically tough enough to make it at Paris Island. I have the greatest respect and admiration for those who have. One of my proudest, but most humbling, moments was several years ago at the Durham VA Medical Center when a small group of USMC veterans of some of the fiercest battles in Vietnam offered me their sincere appreciation for B-52 raids having saved them from certain annihilation. There is only a slim chance, of course, that I was at the controls during the incidents they cited, and the awesome power they witnessed was made possible by Boeing. I (or whoever was in control) sat in reasonable air conditioned comfort 7 or 8 miles above the battles the marines endured. Until the discussion with them, I had thought that the work of the BUFFS during Arc Light (down South') was little-noticed, little-known and unappreciated - made lotsa toothpicks of many acres of jungle growth. Park it over a dry spot and pump the brakes a bit. If there are no obvious leaks, MC seems likely. Leaks in lines, hoses or calipers should put fluid on the ground. Which reminds me, the e320 had that sinking feeling when I moved it last night. Need go move it again and check for spots in the dirt.
