My newest book is late 09 with only 2gb. Ram upgrade on the way. The mini is
late 09 at 4gb. Will be thinking about maxing it out on ram after getting the
book stable. Not going to update the mini to Capitan until ram is installed.

OK I got the SSD and replacement HD for my iMac, which I have been
putting off installing for a few days but I need to do that. I want to
put the OS (which will be 10.6.something as I have some apps that don't
work with the later versions) on the SSD and then restore or transfer
everything off
The Obama and COEXIST sticker lines would still be intact though, ready
to be placed on replacement Subarus.

What kind of ‘book? My secondary machine is a late 2008 Unibody
MacBook Pro 13” C2D with 8GB of RAM and an SSD. It works quite well
under El Capitan.
First-gen C2D I think. 15" Pro3,1 2007? Can only take 4GB.

I thought I saw on some gardening show where you cut out the bigger
branches in the middle of the tree so the outer branches then get more
sun and the fruit does better.
