[MBZ] Double whammy

2016-03-30 Thread Kaleb C. Striplin via Mercedes
We had a double whammy in okie land this evening. Literally had a tornado in
the process of spinning up heading directly for new okie acres Costa plenty. I
watched the spinning mass headed right for us. It then all the sudden got hot
like and oven like happens when you are fixing to get blown away by a tornado.
The mass passed over the house but could have dropped down at any second. We
then got hit with the hail core which was not too bad. At the same time there
was a tornado headed in the area of our other house. It was a pretty good size
tornado on the ground that passed about half a mile from the other house.

Re: [MBZ] This is half tempting -- 1995 MERCEDES BENZ SL 500 $2625

2016-03-30 Thread Rich Thomas via Mercedes
I think I'll go take a look at it. I don't really like that model but
mama made some mention not long about about a "sports car" which I took
to mean a convertible of some sort. If I could get it for beater money
it could make some sense to at least get the top working, if other
things aren't too bad. Obviously brakes and tranny and engine aspects
too, are there other things to consider that are specific to this model?

THE VEHICLE YOU ARE LOOKING FOR MAY BE AVAILABLE FOR SALE AT THE TIME OF
YOUR CALL, BUT SOLD WHEN YOU GET TO THE DEALERSHIP. BE AWARE THAT WE HAVE
HUNDREDS OF CUSTOMERS ON OUR LOT A DAY

Soo ... what I'm reading here is the car in the picture is from a
*reputable* dealer in another *country* that they've taken from facebook,
and when I arrive it "Sold just minutes ago, Sir. But I got one here at a
price that just cuts me own throat."

If it up to me, I would buy a "new" S class for $3000, drive it for a year,
donate it to one of those charities that accepts used cars, and buy
another S class. It would have to pass inspection, and I wouldn't put a
CENT into it other than fuel and basic maintenance.

The S-Class is brimming with features and qualities that make it stand out

whole host of advanced technology, including the ability to follow the road
and stop by itself in an emergency. The ride is very plush, commanding, and
steady-the best we've ever tested-and the cabin is ultrahushed. Even though
it's large and posh, handling precision is commendable. Many controls are
overly complicated, however. A coupe version is available, and a plug-in
hybrid is new for 2016. A convertible version is due out in the

Do you ever wonder if all of the badges were changed to say it was a

[MBZ] CR on the S class

2016-03-30 Thread OK Don via Mercedes
Luxury Midsized/Large Cars: Least Reliable

*Least Reliable: Mercedes-Benz S-Class*

The S-Class is brimming with features and qualities that make it stand out
among luxury cars. A powerful 4.7-liter turbo V8 provides effortless
acceleration and delivered 18 mpg overall in our tests. The S550 brings a
whole host of advanced technology, including the ability to follow the road
and stop by itself in an emergency. The ride is very plush, commanding, and
steady—the best we've ever tested—and the cabin is ultrahushed. Even though
it's large and posh, handling precision is commendable. Many controls are
overly complicated, however. A coupe version is available, and a plug-in
hybrid is new for 2016. A convertible version is due out in the
spring. Reliability
has been well below average.
