Well, vac pump, the timer, timer bushing, and IP are all suspect. When I took off the vac pump, the bolt that is supposed to hold the timer to the IP fell out. It was all chewed up, so I'm guessing the IP is FUBAR. The timer is loose and wobbling, so the bushing at least is busted. I hope

I jacked up the car and took a look at the steering.  I think it is OK, but the rack was moving around, like a quarter inch up and down when I moved the front wheels and just jiggled it, which was giving the slop in the steering.  Looks like these rubber mounting bushings are shot, cheap easy
