You might want to try the connector before the conductor plate. It's cheap and
can be replaced from outside the transmission.

I'm only temporary, we've got an office here I come to a couple times a year.

It's minimalist, but the head strap is a bit too minimal for me, I knock it

A couple of weeks after I got my Brevida, I went back to the Eson.
Somebody else, maybe MMM, uses a different one that holds the hose in place

Understood. “Running backwards” was an oversimplification on my part. More
like allowing the accessory drive to deal with the amplitude of the pulses that
occur due to slowing and speeding of the crank.
Thanks!

I think your opinion of the clutch is pessimistic. Failure mode for those is
probably about the same as the alternator. In fact when I replaced the
alternator on my Jetta it appeared that the alternator was original, I love the
clutch to the new one. Sprag clutches are pretty simple and robust.
Here’s the deal for W123s and other similar vintage MBs:
Stamped steel wheel + aluminum wheel cover
Forged aluminum wheel (same design as the steel wheel) + aluminum wheel cover
Bundt alloy wheel
The forged aluminum wheels were pretty rare in the US, but more common in
Europe, I believe. In
