[MBZ] Coolant tanks

What is the deal with coolant tanks?  I have started looking for parts for this SDL I picked up and want to replace the coolant tank on it since this one is cruddy and you can't see the level in the tank.  I also want to replace the one on my 95 E300.  I thought these were cheap?  I can't find
