The SD shut off issue, though maybe, probably related to the ignition (swapped
in new) was not resolved that way. I took the car to the indy for greater
diagnosis. He found much vacuum trouble. Maybe the green modulator is bad,
but when he was doing the vac testing, ATF was being sucked into
It appears as if I may be acquiring a 96 E300 so I thought I would
compare it to all the other 606 power vehicles in my fleet on
fueleconomy.gov. So basically 95, 96, 97, 98. As we know, 95 is the
last year 124 and has the 4 speed 722.4. 96 was 1st year 210 with
basically the same
Too back its beat up pretty bad

Speaking of AC, I've pretty much decided that I'm going to pull the dash on
the White Whale and replace all the vacuum pods so I can get cold air from
the center dash vent.
Generally air intakes are behind a headlight, when water comes up over the
hood...
