Always thought bad master cylinder was a slowly sinking pedal.

If pedal travel is too far, the pushrod on the pedal needs to be
adjusted?

Spongy or pedal to the floor is air in the lines. Guess that could also
be a bad wheel cylinder or caliper, leaking line, etc.

What are symptoms of a bad master cylinder?  On this ML I just put back 
on the road, it previously was leaking brake fluid out of the grommets 
for the reservoir tank.  I replaced those and bled the brakes a couple 
of times but it seems the brake pedal travels too far to me.  Brakes 
seem to work OK but like I said, pedal travel seems excessive.  Bad MC?

*There’s A new addition to the airport security team. *Dogs may be some of
the world’s most effective disease detectives.16

In January, before COVID-19 was known to have arrived on our shores, *NPR*
wrote about the dogs’ ability to smell disease. The host of Medical Monday
interviewed Maria Goodavage, author of *Doctor Dogs: How Our Best Friends
Are Becoming Our Best Medicine*, who said:16

“With ovarian cancer, there's not much great testing for early detection. I
heard about these dogs at the University of Pennsylvania Veterinary Working
Dog Center that are able to smell ovarian cancer. They're able to detect it
as early as stage one. We're not even talking tumors here. They're able to
detect ovarian cancer in one drop of plasma from a woman with ovarian
cancer.”

Doctor dogs also are being trained to detect the novel coronavirus.
*Reuters* reported, “A study recently found dogs can identify infected
individuals with 85 percent to 100 percent accuracy and rule out infection
with 92 percent to 99 percent accuracy.”17

Airports in Chile, the United Arab Emirates, and Finland have begun using
teams of dogs to identify passengers who may be afflicted with the disease.
Passengers and dogs do not interact directly. Instead, volunteers wipe
gauze over their necks and wrists and place the gauze in a jar. The dogs
smell the gauze to determine if COVID-19 is present.17

Dog disease detectives could help restore consumer confidence in air travel
and provide a layer of protection against infection. If the dogs are
successful in airports, they may be deployed to hospitals, nursing homes,
sports venues, and cultural events, said a Finnish professor of equine and
small animal medicine who was cited by *AFAR.com*.17, 18

FLUAPS (since retired and closed the business) gave me his login info. 
If I bought a car, I called him for the total CoPart cost, and took him 
$$ for CoPart+$300+TTL.

Then he'd pay CoPart and print out pickup papers for me.
I'd fetch the car and the title from the CoPart yard (the 2000 mile 
Cruze in Cleveland was a bit of a journey in the ML350) and he'd process 
the title after I gave it to him. The time I bought salvage, he sat on 
the title until I had it repaired and inspected, that way it went 
straight from salvage titled to Farmer's to Rebuilt titled to me.


There are buying services (brokers) who do similar for you, but it 
usually involves a three digit upfront fee to register you as a bidder 
for their business.

I’m guessing it’s because they’re doing the DIeHard thing now. In the past I 
was always able to use coupon codes on batteries.

[MBZ] Advance Auto Coupon - Batteries?

Looking to put a new battery in the youngest’s E320 before he goes to 
Flagstaff. I can’t find a coupon code for Advance Auto that works on batteries. 
It looks like they’re not honoring any discounts on batteries now, short of 
using SpeedPerks, of which I don’t currently have any.

Anyone know of any discounts on Advance Auto that work on batteries?
