It is more than a little slop at this point so that is what I want to resolve.
I know they have a bit of play but this one is getting a little concerning
after 350k or 400k miles. If it goes another 50k tighter that should be good at
least another 20years at the rate I drive it.

IIRC they need to have a little slop in the steering. If you tighten
the steering box up too much it just wears faster.

That looks really nice but yeah that is probably about $1k too high. The 320
performs well and gets good fuel mileage 21-22Mpg in my wagon.

I have not driven this car for awhile so took it out this evening for a little
spin. I do like driving me a 126. The steering box is a little loose though, I
need to tighten it up a bit. I’ve seen some vids and such on that and know it
can be tricky but I should give it a try. I rebuilt the
I started the car up this evening to charge the battery and aired up the tars.
I fooled around with the radio While I was sitting there and found a Logic7
setting. It has a Harmon Kardon system. WOW does it sound good. My 05E320 wagon
does not have this and it sounds pretty good but this car is
Not a wagon though. Slightly over priced too.

*New brakes, fresh oil change.*
So glad it didn't receive a stale oil change.

I bought this pretty nice 04E500 recently for $900, the transmission is
in limp mode, although one time I drove it the thing shifted OK, weird.
Code seems to be for conductor plate. It has airmatic but is not a
4matic, it is throwing a code for the RR shock but it seems to be
working OK,
Check vin. Some had recall.

The ad said the fluids got changed. I *think* Dwight had transfer case issues,
that were resolved. The big issue with the E500 W211 is going to be the
Airmatic suspension.

W140 chassis cars are very complex, probably the most complex cars of their
time. Multiple independent systems that do all sorts of things, like soft close
doors, control interior lighting, ACC, etc., etc.
That being said, they’re not all that bad to work on. Since each system is

It is not likely that there is a line up of potential buyers for it.
