Maybe ignition is the key/lock is bunged up?   He found out how much it would 
cost to drill it out and has not heard of the sander/jiggle process for 
liberating and return of function?

The part (spare wheel) arrived finally, it's somewhat rusty so giving it
a bath and electrolysis treatment. Once the rust is gone I'll give it a
POR-15 paint job, should be good for a long while.

The key got to position two before the ignition broke. Tow truck driver 
tried to use a screwdriver after that.



The driveway was about half a block long and not big enough for a tow 
truck so the goal was to drive it to the street



Position two is as far as it would go and it wouldn’t turn back to 
position one either



Yes that’s where it decided to permanently stay. Key had popped out with 
zero issue



I have a new cylinder with 2 keys I ordered for it a couple months ago

So I found a utuber of a guy doing the job and told this guy to give it 
a try, he says he is not mechanical at all but it is really a fairly 
simple job so I encouraged him to have a go at it. He couldn't get 
anyone to deal with it but would like to drive the car. i encouraged him 
so he is going to give it a try this weekend. He says it is actually 
fairly decent other than the crappy paint job, bought it from an estate 
sale, the old guy had 2 126s, a 211 and 4 123s "There were 6 Mercedes 
and 3 fifth Avenues ALL PAINTED BLUE!!!"

you know these engines they never die. Comes with clean Georgia title
last issues in 1999 (miles exempt marked on title) These are really
starting to increase in value and this would be an easy restore since
the body looks rust free and straight and even the interior is in pretty
good condition. I will not entertain 50% offers so don’t waste my time
or yours the price is slightly negotiable. Cash , Cashapp or credit
