[MBZ] Lost some friends today.
Been a sad day here, my 10 year old tomcat was having trouble breathing this evening when I came up from the garage and passed away on the trip to the emergency vet clinic. Vet said it was probably heart disease complicated by blood clots, and probably a pulmonary embolism. He was pretty fat, I've been struggling to keep him under 18 pounds the whole time I've had him. Inherited him and three other cats from a friend who passed away suddenly six years ago. I still expected him to last a while longer, clean bill of health last regular visit to the vet. And on top of that, my friend Hans Benden passed away from cancer a couple weeks ago, my brother just found out. He was my source for all things Benz, since he graduated from the Mercedes Benz school in Dusseldorf in the early 60's. He had stopped working on cars except for a few friends, but still got us parts at VERY reasonable cost and provided endless advice. A very good friend, of the best kind, and his widow said he really enjoyed me and my brother, sharing car stories and my brother did quite a bit of work for him. Reminds me that I'm old. In the indictment, Knight is accused of "lying to the Small Business Administration (SBA) in connection with applications for Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDLs)," according to the release. If convicted, Knight could face up to 30 years in prison and financial penalties, followed by a period of supervised release. Knight, who authorities say also represents himself as a mortician, restaurateur and tax preparer, applied for the loans in February and March 2021 on behalf of Knight's Tax Services and Daddy Earl's Kitchen. Action News Jax spoke to Pastor Mack Devon Knight in May, when he spoke about the investigation into an officer-involved shooting in Woodbine, in which his cousin was injured. Knight is accused of falsely representing "that the businesses each had hundreds of thousands of dollars of gross revenue prior to the COVID-19 pandemic," and then he "made and transmitted to the SBA a falsified bank document to deceive the SBA into approving one of Knight's EIDL applications," the release detailed. After receiving $149,900 on behalf of Knight's Tax Services, Knight used some of the money to buy a Mercedes-Benz S-Class sedan, according to the indictment. "Funding from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Security (CARES) Act was provided to help small businesses survive pandemic-related losses," Acting U.S. Attorney David H. Estes said in the release. "In coordination with our law enforcement partners, we will hold accountable those unscrupulous actors who attempt to swindle these funds for their own enrichment." Could be cooincidence, but IMO a problem that started a day after a "mechanic" had his hands in the engine bay is very likely related to whatever he was working on. He probably knocked something loose, forgot to reconnect something or didn't get a good connection, etc. Find out what this shade tree guy was working on, and look at that repair and anything else that would have come out or been disconnected or is in the same area. With that kind of miles it’s unlikely to have a bad wiring harness at this point - it’s almost got to have been replaced by now. The M103 has valve guide/head gasket issues every 150k or thereabouts, so it’s possible it’s in need at this point for the second time around. Story sounds a little fishy. Why not have the mechanic correct the problem? Depends on what "I can not get it started" means. Completely dead? Possibly/probably crankshaft position sensor, fuel pressure regulator, bad fuel pump(s), fuel pump relay Fuel pumps are a couple hundred dollars to do, CPS is a hundred, regulator is maybe $50, FPR is maybe $10?
