Re: [MBZ] OT you think petrol is bad
Thanks! I don’t recall swapping compressors being this easy in the past. It was really quick. I think we had the old one out in about 15 minutes. Receiver/dryer took a little longer, but not much. I figured altitude was playing into the issue when I couldn’t get it to pull more than 24”. Youngster looked it up while I was opining about it and confirmed that altitude was in fact, the culprit. It was nice doing the work in 70F temps, too. I spent a good part of the day today washing, polishing and waxing the ML350. I wasn’t able to get all the scratches out that I wanted to, but I also didn’t have the most aggressive compound handy, either. Definitely looks nicer, though. -D > On Jun 19, 2022, at 5:19 PM, Buggered Benzmail via Mercedes > wrote: > > Too funny. Three cans of R134a were about $10.75/each at Autozone yesterday. I didn’t think that was bad at all. Took under two hours total to replace the compressor, receiver/dryer, evacuate and charge the 2002 E320 that belongs to the youngest. It’s now making ice cubes. I also learned that you can’t pull a 28” vacuum at 7,000 feet, either. -D > On Jun 19, 2022, at 3:44 PM, Curt Raymond wrote: > > Last time I bought 134a it was $8/can but that was in 2015... > > -Curt > > > On Friday, June 17, 2022 at 09:30:01 PM EDT, dan penoff.com via Mercedes > wrote: > > > > > > I just looked at generic R134a at Autozone and it’s $10 and change for a 12 > ounce can, pretty much what it’s been for a while. > > -D (getting ready to do a compressorectomy on the youngest’s W210 in the > morning) > >> On Jun 17, 2022, at 5:14 PM, Rick Knoble via Mercedes >> wrote: >> >> R22 is bad also. >> >> >> Rick >> >> From: mercedes@okiebenz.com >> Sent: June 17, 2022 2:44 PM >> To: mercedes@okiebenz.com >> Reply-to: mercedes@okiebenz.com >> Cc: buggeredbenzm...@gmail.com >> Subject: [MBZ] OT you think petrol is bad >> >> Called my AC guy to come charge up a mini-split that is getting a little >> weak on output. Re: [MBZ] Commercial freezer
I looked at the electrical drawing you had attached. Does the door light work? If not, I would check the power cord, and any connections between the outlet and the internal wiring of the appliance. If the last thing you did was unplug it, and now it doesn't work, I would suspect a broken wire at the plug. And no, I'm not saying you yanked it out of the wall by the cord. I'm saying that in 23 years of use, someone did several times. It failed on you. Those old freezers are like the 240D of freezers. The price of steel for metal buildings has gone up much like the price of lumber. Add to that, the supply chain issues. Steel mills have almost all been moved to China and India, both which are not shipping or producing, so huge backlogs which drives up prices.
