3/16" (4,8 mm) is too narrow.

My information on belts:

  |Belt Function | Quantity | Size |
  |---|--|-|
  | Power Steering|1 | 13A1145 |
  | Air Conditioning |1 | 13A0925 |
  | Alternator/Water Pump |2 | 11A1030 | *
  |---|--|-|

   * My 1980 300SD came with two 11A1030 alternator belts. There are
two sizes of belts available on a Euro parts website: 10A1025 and
10A1035 (I don't recall which website). Since the 10 mm belt
available will ride lower in the pulley than the 11 mm belt the
car came with, the shorter belt is the correct one.

From an earlier inquiry to Gates:

Specifications for the Gates Automotive Aftermarket belts you inquired
about:

9395 - Outside Circumference - 39 7/8" (1012mm), top width 1/2"
(12.5/13mm)

9405 - " "- 40 7/8" (1038mm), " " 1/2"
(12.5/13mm)

7405 - " "- 41 1/8" (1045mm), " " 3/8"
 (9.5/10mm)

Have a look at

https://www.autohausaz.com/catalog?v=1193789=4=8900=1

It shows

Continental ContiTech V Belt/Drive Belt; Alternator | 10X1035 OEM
2 per engine.

If you don't need it immediately, go to one of the Internet's Mercedes
parts providers:AutohausAZ
RMEuropean
FCPEuropean
or even RockAuto

(I'm sure others can list more on-line sources.)

[MBZ] Dual pulley alternator belts

2024-03-26 Thread Michael Esh via Mercedes
Could anyone help or direct me to a source for the correct alternator belts for
my 1982 240D. It has a donor engine that may have come from a 1984 300D and it
has dual belts that run from crank pulley to alternator.

One of the belts was destroyed and I pulled the other one off to measure it.
There are no numbers or manufacturers name on the belt.
It measures 40.25” when measuring out side of the belt from mark to mark. Width
of belt is 3/16”

The sales person at autozone measured it using a belt measuring tool fixture
and told it me it was 390 x 9. He looped it around the two ends of the tool
and then stretched it out. He did not have any belts that were close to the
correct size.

Is there a correct way measure so I can order the correct belt?
Is there a site that lists their belts by size?
Or if anyone could point me to a part number I would like to order a couple of
them.

Thanks for any help,

Mike

units says it's 1693.7798 megaJ and 809.64615 lb tnt -- quite a lot of
energy to dissipate.

Given the cost of the bridge and the impact its loss is having / will
have on commerce, constructing a bollard sufficient for that is quite
justified, as well as changes to policies (such as not requiring tugs
or other helps before getting past the bridge).

Because the left side fell and broke off. That was the counterweight to the
right side.
Cut a teeter-totter in half at the middle, see what happens to BOTH sides.

What happened to this bridge is just about the worst-case scenario, except for
the
extremely fortunate time of day that it fell.

Take a hell of a bollard to stop a 100,000 tonne hammer moving at 8 knots.
Let's call it 850 MJ, or over 200 lbs of TNT in bomb form.

Yeah, that'll hurt.

You can't imagine the relief that I felt since I picked my son up at the airport
last night. He was in Baltimore last week, and his girlfriend was home and in
bed at the critical time.

[MBZ] air strut resealing

2024-03-26 Thread Allan Streib via Mercedes
Apparently it's possible to re-seal the airmatic struts with JB Weld or other
epoxy.

Process described here (this is a PDF attachment at Benzwhirled)

www.benzworld.org/forums/attachments/w220-s-class/321085d1279940284-airmatic-strut-epoxy-fix-_summary-epoxy-fix-airmatic-front-strut

That appears to be for a W220, would this be substantially the same as a W211
in regards to the airmatic struts?

I'm back at trying to diagnose why the front left of the E500 sinks within a
few hours of shutting off.

I think if the reservoir tank were leaking down it would affect the whole car
not just one corner?

I'm guessing a leak in that strut but still trying to rule out other causes.

cargo area for them to latch onto, they aren't plug and play on any
vehicle.  And yeah pretty useless and take up a lot of room.
