Hi Tim - That only happened to me [oil pressure pegged with the key turn,
not related to engine even running] was when a not so sharp indy plugged it
into the temp sensor. For some reason the temp gauge, wired to the oil
pressure sensor, did not work well either.

Bill,
There was a bulletin issued to add an external in line fuse for the blowers
on the 1981 and later 126 cars. I think it was about 35 amps. That should
solve your problem. I think both the AC fan and the aux ellectric radiator
fan run off the same
I will give that a try, along with a few shots of contact cleaner. That
does sound much simpler than a disassembly!
Thanks for the suggestion

Georgia has done that right, for sure. My daughter missed out by .2 getting
a scholarship [she has dyslexia]. She was on the deans list for 4 years, so
did end up with scholarships, but those first years were tough.

the
biggest factor is having a body shop you know you can trust. That I have a
good, honest mechanic to take the car to [my nephew] and an honest and
capable body shop make life here in Jacksonville much nicer.

Bob - Do you mean it never rains and you never wash your car? That is the
only source for rust down here - except for those who live several miles
nearer the ocean than I do.

I'll give a cheer for that. Mine did spend a year in SC after a long life
in CA.

On my 1981 300SD what should the resistance read on the glow plugs
, and
will request someone please run it. I will probably go and take a look at
it tomorrow - perhaps even with a replacement filter
I can't wait to see how the story turns out

. If I can pull
that and put it in my 1981 300SD that would be quite helpful as mine is
starting to have more issues than I am happy with. Anyone have knowledge about
that?
