[MBZ] front of car sitting much too high

have been reading about this condition and it is not really clear what it may be. Springs? Bad front shocks? differential mount worn out? bad alignment? It looks like I have the trunk filled with cinder blocks even though it is empty. any insight would be appreciated. Dan Elliott 83 300TD 144 kmi
