Sometime during the early summer of 1975, a swimming pool on base had
been closed because of a drowning there. A child had gotten trapped
underwater by the suction of the filter inlet.

BTW, 'reminds me: One of the most enjoyable rides I've had was 3 or 4 days
after Christmas about 1996 when older grandson was 5. He had been to
Charlotte with SWMBO and me to visit our daughter, her husband and our
4-year-old granddaughter. Our 3½-hour return trip

Well, I would not be surprised. As for B-52 missions, in which I was
involved, even if the enemy was not notified of the targets directly there,
were ways they could easily figure it out. There were spies on the ground
at Anderson AFB, Guam, and UTapao, Thailand, and in boats just off the

condemned, sold to salvagers or awaiting being burned by our fire department
for training exercises. I examined three of the buildings to be burned
