Re: [MBZ] 126 300se starting

2008-02-03 Thread M.A. K
Larry , I will do so systematically..I think the 103 engine is a gem and
not to be given up in favour of a another Diesel.

The 109 now has all new window channel seals .I did not realise they are
so generously long and needed to be cut. Thanks for that
Regards
mak

I would look at fuel filters - replace if it has been a while - also,
electrical gremlins can cause your intermittant starting problem. Check
ground strap, battery cables, for tightness and cleanliness, etc.

Also, the distributor cap and rotor should be looked at for carbon
 tracking
 and cracks -

 Or, get a diesel. ;-)

 Good luck -

Normally the car is a ever reliable starter. yesterday i shut it for
 a
minute and it refused to restart .
After a few minutes it restarted without a fuss,
i have driven it a lot since that episode and there has been no repeat
 .Wonder what caused that.
 Thanks

300SE

The 3.0 Liter Inline 6 cylinder M103 engine (much more reliable than
  the M104) ...

Is this true? How reliable is that?

What kind of mileage on what kind of gasoline?
