[MBZ] Heaters
I have 2 propane heaters for sale in CT, where I live. Changed to natural gas. One is vented, the other not. The smaller is 15000-2000 BTU not vented and the other 3 BTU vented. Smaller heated my house garage with 3.5 cars and the larger in my 5 car size garage. [MBZ] How does one get road tar spots off wheels and paint?
I have used lighter fluid for years to remove tar and similar spots. While being careful not to drag the spot across the finish as it could scratch it. I keep a can in both my garages. Just keep using cleaner and cleaner soft rags to spot and remove the tar. Finish it off with wax or whatever you use for finish protection. To expand the discussion a bit, I use a lot of MaGuires Quick Detailer (no connection). If it goes on easily, with no cloth drag, I simply finish it with a full panel job. If not I use a wax or polymer to provide the protection and follow it with Detailer after each wash. Takes me less time to detail than to wash. The frequent application covers more and more of the minute finish scratches on a normal car finish and you end up with a high scratchless (new word) sheen looking like a fresh paint job. It is especially good on a dark color. My daily driver is a 10 year old dark green metallic Acura. Strangers have complemented me on its shine. I cover boats with plastic tarps and am lucky to get 2 years out of a tarp before it is worn out. I am not buying the junk tarps. These are relatively heavy duty items when I get them new. They just do not last. [MBZ] Interviewing
Many years ago two of us developed a system of interviewing that proved perfect in finding the best engineering dept candidates. We had about a dozen characteristics we pursued. They ranged from appearance to technical qualification. A candidate was average, below or above. We interviewed for 30 minutes then gave the candidate a brief writing exercise while we reviewed our evaluations to that point. Then back for another 10 minutes of interviewing. We had to agree on each point or we further explored that characteristic. Our selection always gave us excellent candidates. All this before affirmative action of course. My favorite question was; have you ever worked for a boneheaded supervisor? What great answers. Re: [MBZ] Someone Needs This -- now social commentary
Re: German Concentration Camps Curt, It was General Eisenhower who had the civilian towns' residents filed thru the camps to see the dead bodies piled up and the condition of those who were alive. I did see one old movie clip that showed American GI's shooting some of the German guards. They were insensed with what they found. Some of the prisoners also went after the guards when given the opportunity. It was a sad day for humanity to have the camps at all.
