Cons: An engine that will self destruct with bent rods, a wiring harness that will self destruct with heat and time, many complex computerized systems... Pros: A state of the art automobile for its time. Timeless design. Awesome ride. Built like a vault. Quiet beyond tranquility. The Princess of Wales was known to ride in one (w140) from time to time. This one has 193k miles on the clock, and at first I'm thinking, it's a diesel, so no problem. My w126 has almost 400k on it, this one should be fine? You wrote: Built like a vault. Quiet beyond tranquility. IIRC, I believe double paned glass was standard... My W124 is the best car we've ever owned but I still look at every W140 that comes my way. Every once in a while, I'll see a 600SEL and wonder what kind of budget it would take to keep one happy.
