Assuming you are talking about the bolts from the axle to the Diff. Those are not hex head. They take a special socket. If you are committed to using new bolts, (not a bad idea) then put 7 to 10 inch vicegrips on them and get them started. BTDT! I had some that had evidently been out and then put back with permanent loctite. I ended up beating on the vicegrips to get them out. I think they are like the OM 60x headbolts only opposite. It's a reverse triple square? You can find those at most auto zoos. I have a set. I think they fell under GM tools. Had to have them for my VW Bug (don't remember why particularly). -Rolf Loren Faeth wrote: Assuming you are talking about the bolts from the axle to the Diff. Those are not hex head. Re: [MBZ] Sheesh
They are normal hex heads, I promise, I wasn't even drinking when I tried 'em. Triple square are inset like allen bolts these are NOT inset, they're normal hex head but they're already chewed up. I tried vice grips on them already, the problem I had was getting enough of the vice grip on to bite but not tearing up the CV boot at the same time. Theres not any extra space there... I don't have time now to work on it and its dark by the time I get home, cold too, 22F this morning. Too cold to lie on my back in the driveway... -Curt --- On Tue, 11/18/08, Loren Faeth [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: From: Loren Faeth [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [MBZ] Sheesh To: [EMAIL PROTECTED], Mercedes Discussion List mercedes@okiebenz.com Date: Tuesday, November 18, 2008, 1:36 PM Assuming you are talking about the bolts from the axle to the Diff. Is there such a thing? I think the one I stripped might have been, the two I loosened definately were normal hex head. I spent a long time (5+ minutes) under there just staring at them... Then I cleaned a couple good with a toothbrush. -Curt Date: Tue, 18 Nov 2008 14:06:53 -0500 From: Rolf [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [MBZ] Sheesh To: Mercedes Discussion List mercedes@okiebenz.com Message-ID: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 It's a reverse triple square? A couple months ago when I went to Iowa I left the lights on on my 190D. 2 days later you can imagine how dead the battery was. Yesterday when I returned from Burbank I realized I'd left the dome light on. As my grandfather would have said Jumpin Jesus, bald headed Christ. So now I know that the battery in my 190D is good enough to leave the dome light on for nearly 4 days and still start the car. Not with any extra mind you but the car did indeed start. Yeah battery life is definately shortened I'm sure. Worst part is the battery isn't even a year old. -Curt ___ http://www.okiebenz.com For new parts see official list sponsor: http://www.buymbparts.com/ For used parts email [EMAIL PROTECTED] To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com

If its not one thing its another. Got my new roll of wire, fed the dog, fed myself. Spent some time with the dog. Got back out to the garage, put the new wire in, got it fed through the gun correctly, made a few welds, beat the metal to a better shape (I did a better job on the other side. The seam needs to be under the car not at the middle of the bend under the car, I didn't know that before. Now its raining...
