Yep, nothing but Blizzaks for me when it comes to serious winter tires.
I've experimented with other brands in the studless snow/ice category,
but no other maker seems to be able to copy the magic Blizzak formula.

Blizzaks were the only tire that would keep my 62 Buick Special wagon on
the road in the snow...

Nokia Hakkepellitta(sp?) are almost as good but not quite as soft.

If I had an extra set of 16 wheels I'd like to do that.
I bought a set of General G-MAX, they're awesome in the summer, but when it
snows the S210 gets a bit tail-happy with new G-MAX in the back and older Conti
Pro-Contact II in the front. I don't know if it's because the Contis are better
in the snow or because there's a little more weight on the front wheels, but I
was amazed that the back wheels spin first on my 4Matic with new tires back
there. Made me wish I'd gone for the Conti DWS instead of the Generals.

My experience with generals is that they were terrible in snow, in
all sizes. Continentals have been adequate, but 123s and 126s still
need a couple of sandbags in the trunk. Farstone snows on a 123 work
well, and blizzaks are great.
