What sort of tranny jack did you get? I initially had one of the things that slips into the floor jack but couldn't use it as I did not have sufficient room under the vehicle. Then I swapped it for one of the scissor style tranny jacks. I have used it a couple of times but still had to have some help to balance the tranny and get it slipped into place since it was on a 4X4 and the transfer case was still attached. Made it lean a bit to one side. Wouldn't want to see how well it held up day in and day out but should be good for a few transmissions. I think regular price is $199 but often seen at 99 or 119. My auto works perfect, but I'm just not a fan of automatics. We could definitely work it into the deal... If I find one, I might buy a W201 manual, and swap the manual and auto, and resell the parts car with the automatic installed. Well since I already had a tranny ready to go in, I decided to slap an auto back on the 190D. I bought the harbor freight tranny jack a while back but this is the first time I used it. Boy does it make putting the tranny in a snap. I usually just use a floor jack and balance it on that. Always falls off a couple of times before I get it up there where it should be, then you have to wrestle it around to get it in place. With the tranny jack, it just raises in place, then you can adjust the angles to get it to line up exactly right. Got it done in about an hour.
