I'd imagine that the seller won't pre-approve your bid unless you agree to pay 
the full price of $11k - then he'll pull the auction because you've used his 
special Buy It Now feature.  He's using Ebay as a cheap AutoTrader or Hemmings.

Yup, Then he'll try to get off only paying ebay their % of $0.10 !
Ebay is cracking down on sellers trying to circumvent the fees, he may 
be in for a suprize.

Thought Ebay Motors is not a percentage...40.00 to list and 40.00 to
sell plus extras like BIN.

I've seen deals like this for kitchen ranges (high BIN, no reserve),
emailed the seller to get added to the approved bidders list, and never
heard from them. Their auctions also had no bids.

I'm not quite sure what the game is.
