I’ve been watching a bunch of vids. All the work is in the prep, sanding 
filling etc. Spraying is the least difficult part of it if you pay attention to 
proper technique. It looks like unless you go really cheap it’ll cost about $1k 
for materials

That's not an unreasonable price, it looks pretty nice, but of course 
you could probably beat it down to $3.8-4k given prices are kinda high 
these days. A hitch is no big deal, easier if you have a helper, adding 
the light controller is a bit more of a bother but easy enough to do 
too.  The 163 doesn't need any sort of nanny to control things like the 
164 does

That’s not an unrealistic price for the model and miles. Too bad there aren’t 
better shots of the interior, but from what you can see it doesn’t look bad.

Adding a hitch costs around $200 for the whole setup and a couple of hours to 
install. I did it on the ML350 in Flagstaff last fall and it was a piece of 
cake.

Actually the diesel is fun to drive, it has massive torks and really 
scoots.  I regularly got the nannies upset, the AWD was nice.  But yeah 
it is mostly a utilitarian vehicle, but does OK for what it is.  Kinda 
tarted up for more than the occasional plant store run, but carries a 
fair amount for a trip.  The one we got did not particularly thrill me 
beyond the boy racer driving, but it was nice enough.

Oh I see 73k miles on that one pic.  That is not bad for an 8yo car, bit 
less than 10k miles/yr.  MBeach has a lot of retirees there, I wonder if

experience buying a 2012 4yr ago.  Looks like these things depreciate 
fast.  I'd still beat on them some though.   Run the VIN to see what the 
build sheet says, get Kleb to run a carfax on it to see its history.


The diesel is LOTS of fun to drive!

about 80 times on Benzworld and also tried to sell some stuff there, no
sign that he completed any sales.

Unlike the buying / selling / and giving away stuff that goes on here, and
the few things I've bought / sold via the forums, I usually have a pretty
good idea of the trustworthiness of the other party.  I hate to just send
money and hope the deal turns out well.

I'd sooner pay that for a good 300SDL.  Its a better car with a

Perhaps some day, and I think the 350 conversion is a good idea at this
point, but I wouldn't have a dark car down here - way too hot even with my
white one. The good news is that my 300SD is doing wonderfully with the new
motor mounts.  Not only did the odd noises go away [engine mount to frame],
but the shift is better, starting is quicker, and the temp gauge has even
worked perfectly since the new motor mounts, though I still don't understand
why [ and don't forget it also made the sun shine brighter ...]  New shocks
are next then I think it will be done mechanically, and when the replacement
spring base arrives from Kaleb - along with my under door light - I'll
finish up the interior. Wait - my climate control only works on MAX, so it
needs a re-solder job that I can't do.  After that it will not be until I
find some extra money I don't need for other things before I can add a
Jaguar to my 'fleet.'
Thanks for keeping an eye out ... but not exactly a serious looker any more.
