Because I have a low mile new updated rods 3.5 which will have a lot more

Reminds me of my time with the Saab indy, we bought a 1981 Turbo with a busted
piston.
APC (knock sensor controlled boost) came along in 1982.
I found the hose to the boost safety switch disconnected and plugged, so I
hooked it back up.
The boss took it for a drive then complained it cut out
Lol, it was a gasser, too

for some reason, it's immobile. Pull the starter and check.
Also check the flywheel.
Or a rod went, only way to check is to get the oil pan
Pop out the glow plug and see if it bars over then.

Sounds like a good deal if you can swap that other engine in it, pull
all the good bits off the one that had the fire and knacker it. Pull
the top-end good parts off the locked engine too so you have spares.
Some work but seems like you might have a nice car out of it.
