It's a pretty clean car, white with grey interior, except that it actually DOES have leather seats - and the drivers seat cover is cracked and torn. Did MB Tex come in grey? Need to either cover it with a sheepskin, or get a salvage yard Tex cover for it. We bought it for $1800 - 178k miles, no

Sounds like a good find. The stuff that needs attention is easy enough to put right. As far as I know, they did make MB Tex in grey. I know at one time, you could buy either the seat, or back cover from the dealer. Probably cheaper places to get them though. Happy motoring. Ed 300E 2009/8/23

How many miles per gallon can one expect to get, highway and/or mixed, in one of these cars? Do you have to burn premium fuel, or will it adjust the timing for regular or medium? What to look for other than the wiring harness, ACC, rear suspension links ??? Does the 103 engine have the same

I've never really checked mileage. Worse than a 240D, better than an S600. It requires premium. Check head gasket, and any mixing of oil in the coolant, and valve guides. Pull a few plugs and check the colour. Check the sills and jacking points, as at the age they are at, I've seen several
