Are the vertical guide rails the place to dab a little lubricant, or 
is there something else that's likely to be binding? Is the MB sunroof 
slide paste the appropriate thing to use for this? It seems to work 
well on sunroofs!


It's a big scissor lift, with some sliding and some rotating points.
(In addition to the window channels.)  I'd pull it out and give it
a good cleaning first.  I have no opinion on the slide paste.

This is just a general statement about window regulators but in most cases a
binding window is caused by something worn out.
