That is true, sadly. Hardline right wingers also claim to be "good"
christians, eh? Beginning with the Anti-Carter vote. SCOTUS is a
hardline right winger election ploy that began in the anti-Carter era
also. Not a good ploy. Sad. The failure of good candidates is
incomprehensible. It is what causes conspiracy to become believable.

I'm not a fan of it, because it brings in that "lesser of two evils".
Nobody seems to get excited Johnson which kind of makes me like him more. I
don't think the president should be exciting. Our political system needs a time

Re: [MBZ] OT Trump won

2016-09-28 Thread Curt Raymond via Mercedes
I think part of the blame needs to come down on the hardline right wingers. A
Republican candidate needs to spout such foolishness to get through the primary
that he's a hard swallow for independents when it comes to the general
election. Look at "I'm severely conservative" Romney...
The Democrats don't seem to have to pander to the far left anywhere near as
much so the center can stomach them better.
Actually if Romney had given any speech as good as his anti-Trump one during
his campaign he'd probably be president now.

I disagree.  I think he is very concerned about Republicans refusing to vote
for him.  It won't make a difference in solidly blue states and it won't make a
difference in solidly red states. But, as usual it will come down to the swing
states of Ohio, Pennsylvania, Florida, Missouri, and to a lesser extent, Nevada
and Virginia.  I think the fact that North Carolina is up in the air is the
best indication that Trump needs Republicans badly to swallow their
disappointment and vote for him.

I can tell you exactly who I blame for all this.  It is the 15 other Republican
candidates who had no chance to win entering the race and muddying up the
waters and even worse staying in MUCH too long.  If it had been a race between
2-3 or even 3-4 candidates early on, one of them could have solidified their
position and taken on Trump.

Whether you like him or not, this would be completely different election if it
was Jeb Bush v. Clinton.  For one thing, the whole Bush dynasty wouldn't have
been an issue because the same argument applies to Hillary.  He would have
looked like a boy scout compared with the scandals surrounding both Hillary and
Trump.  And while the conservatives wouldn't have wanted Bush, they would have
flocked to Bush when the alternative was Hillary Clinton.  So, when it all goes
to hell when either one of them is elected, just remember to blame:

Lindsey Graham
Scott Walker
Rick Perry
Ron Paul
Ben Carson
Chris Christie
Carly Fiorina
Mike Huckabee
Jim Gilmore
Bobby Jindal
George Pataki

If it had started with Rubio, Cruz, Bush, Kasich, and Trump.  It would have
whittled down a lot faster and Bush, Rubio, or Kasich would have been SO MUCH
better.

Although the current court would disagree, the SC can only render an
opinion, and it is up to the gress of cons to take corrective action, or
to tell them "thanks for your opinion." The spineless gress of cons has
grown much more spineless in the past 85 years, and has refused to do
their job, leaving us with a SC that thinks they "make law" and a
resident who thinks he is a dic tator. In reality the resident is just
a wannabe BB player, a wannabe gofer, and a dick head who couldn't grow
a tator. (or anything else)

Shyster schools are also to blame for teaching this BS to the young
mushy skulls.

I think its very difficult to draw any conclusions on how this election will go
down based on history. Looking back over the last 12-18 months we see a lot of
"Trump will..." prognostications that have all turned out wrong. I don't think
anybody really thought he'd get this far.

Re: [MBZ] OT Trump won

2016-09-28 Thread Floyd Thursby via Mercedes
My BIL is sorta like DSnook, and was seriously considering H->er. I
pointed out something his dad (my FIL), a pretty smart lawyer like
DSnook, said some years ago, maybe when BJ was running the first time --
a president is somewhat transient and most of whatever they do can be
undone after a time if it is really bad, but the Supreme Court
establishes the laws that control the nation pretty much forever. So
think of who will be appointing the SCOTUS justices when you make your
selection. I think that goes more to one's core beliefs than the
Resident of the US.

Max,
According to the online AOL poll, Hillary won. This poll from a source that no longer
allows comments on news stories because Hillary was taking a beating. This source run by
AH, Soros' "hoe" of news sources. I don't trust any polls and I worry about the
upcoming elections because computers are too easy to hack and change. I've come to
realize that anyone who can support Hillary lacks morals, integrity, character, and

I saw Johnson and that woman Jill something on interviews on PBS. They
were both fairly incoherent, Jill much worse. She had lots of ideas but
none of them made the least bit of practical sense. He was just sorta
all over the place and I cannot remember anything specific that caught
my attention, and I did listen fairly closely. I'm sure they are both
well-intentioned but just did not resonate.

But I think all 4 of them should be up there and let them all go at it,
since they do have some degree of traction. Let the voters sort it all out.

I'm sorry Max, but the words "Hymans" and "decent seafood" do not belong
in the same sentence. But since Andrew would be a tourist, I guess it
would be OK. Or we could hit Lewis BBQ for some real Q and some Revelry

Honestly? - I think we are ALL bozos on that bus. Knowing anything
about anyone does not make them a character with morals and integrity.
Humanity is too loaded with foibles. To count yourself otherwise
might be foolish? Degrees of character, morals, integrity vary - but
to be honest, each carries the torch of humanity as we fail. Or,
maybe my standards are too high...

Well Roger,

I have reached the stage in my life where I do not care of you are a Democrat
or Republican or Libertarian. I do not care what religion you practice, or if
you practice religion at all. I do not care if your skin color is white,
green, red, blue, black, yellow or purple. All I care about is whether or not
a person is an a** or not.

I am very happy that you a have spent your entire life in the business world.
I spent the first 12 years after college in the service of my country in one
capacity or another, and after that I became a pilot for a major US airline. I
can assure you that I know all about character, morals and integrity.

If anyone is going to impugn my character, morals and integrity, or a friend’s
character, morals or integrity WITHOUT knowing anything at all about me or
them, then that person is indeed foolish. In fact, I would say that person is
a moron, lacking in sound judgement, and probably a coward as well.

Are you a hermit? - yeah, I didn't think so. Most of Amerika fits
that bill. Even tent-city homeless. Attitude really is everything
and pervades this kountry in a bad way. I raise my hand in answer to
whether I am greedy, dishonest, low character. Even the private high
school motto was "Character Before Career" lo. those many years ago.
Go ahead, let's find okiebenz readers that DO NOT fit the bill -
greedy, dishonest, of low character. Show us. Help!! Do not be
dishonest - that shows low character and greed.

I have a bunch of friends who love H->er and we get on OK, I pay no
attention to their foolishness about H->er, or just note it for
entertainment purposes. i can't stand the woman and her droning and
pandering and fluid view of reality.

I am not a big The Don fan either but I find him intriguing, kinda like

I'd love to have you both over for dinner! We'd have some great fun!
Plenty of room out back for the post-prandial duel! Cap the evening off
with a bang! Or two...

What difference, at this point, does it make?
