So, why not call the CC? Mr. Hanson may be forgetful, but they will get
you the parts eventually.

Well I was pulling everything apart so I did pull the dash. I don’t recall if
they would have been accessible otherwise. Do you have the 126 manuals? That
might say.

So I had a vacuum leak under a hood a few weeks go which I found and
fixed and it got the air blowing out of the center vents 100% instead of
some air leaking out defrost. Last week I noticed it was leaking out
the defrost again. I thought I probably had another leak. I checked
everything
The ACC on my 82 300SD started acting up. When the car is cold, the system
switches itself to defrost. After a bit, I can cycle the ACC off and then
back to auto and the AC function comes on as it should. I speculate a bad
solder joint in the controller. Does anyone have any other guesses or
Let us know if you find that aspirator fan in the SDL - and where it's
hiding. Mine is still alternating between full hot and full cold
instead of choosing a nice middle temp if the air temp indicates other
than full on of either hot or cold. If it's very hot, or very cold
outside, it does fine.
I took out the glovebox. 7 plastic push rivets, and the light
connections. Leave the door on. The fan is in a little holder behind the
right side of the glovebox. before you take it loose, turn the ign. switch
on, and you should see the fan moving. It is kind of a miniature squirrel
cage

Absolutely it's behind the glove box in an SDL. The real question
was whether or not the earlier SD's were significantly different
or not. There were a lot
probably the air bag crash sensor.

That might be a sticky monovalve or a weak coil. My SD did the same thing,
then it defaulted to full heat. Turns out the coil went bad. Got one from
Kaleb, and all's well on the climate front now.

Guys,
With summer rapidly approaching here in Okanogan County, WA, I again find

I recommend you check the air tube to the temp sensor. It goes y the
back of the glove box just like the 123. If it doesn't get the air flow,
it can't set the temp.
Perhaps your little fan suction motor is shot? Surely he tube has
disintegrated by now.

Do you remember a gold 190D 2.5 running around the area a few years ago?
Got pinched in an accident at some point. Mine, now.
123 does, 124, 126 etc have a little electric motor.

The usual thing squatting TDC on the hump is the airbag controller.

Playing with the airbag controller might be fun too! Thanks for the
info! None of my junkers are new enough to have an airbag. All the
airbags i have are on good driving cars!
