Re: [MBZ] 2006 E500 4Matic - 105k miles - $2,200
I think this one still has the M113 5L which is a solid engine. The M273 was badged E550. The biggest issue isn't the airmatic suspension. The biggest issue is it's a 2006 with an M273, which is known for timing idler gear issues. They may not be as hard of a job as a M272 balance shaft, but it's something to consider. Re: [MBZ] 2006 E500 4Matic - 105k miles - $2,200
Yeah I’d be all over that. Moab about what a big deal it is blah blah and get it for less. Get a scanner if you go look at it, sometimes it might be something else that would show up like a leaky connection but if the strut is blown you can get an Arnott and pop it in. No big deal, maybe $350? I haven’t looked at them, do that before you go. Prevailing wisdom is to do both at same time as the other one will probably blow out before long but who knows. You might be able to find one at a junkyard too for like $50 or less if you want to go cheap. The systems are quite straightforward, compressor in left forward wheel well, distribution block there then air lines running to each front and a distribution block/valve in rear with a leveling link to work the valve. Each strut has a sensor that tells the nanny what’s going on. --FT Sent from iFōn > On Aug 14, 2022, at 7:09 PM, Allan Streib via Mercedes > wrote: > > So that might be a pretty good deal then? Easy. I pulled both front airmatic struts from an 04E500 in about 15min. Probably take a bit longer to put them back in --FT Sent from iFōn > On Aug 14, 2022, at 1:02 PM, Allan Streib via Mercedes > wrote: > > "The car runs well but needs front passenger side strut replaced but drives > fine as is." > > How big a job is that? > > Needs a headlight polish and general external martha treatment, paint looks > rather dull. > > https://nashville.craigslist.org/cto/d/nashville-2006-mercedes-w500/7521241209.html > ___ > http://www.okiebenz.com > > To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ > > To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: > http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com > ___ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com

"The car runs well but needs front passenger side strut replaced but drives fine as is." How big a job is that? Needs a headlight polish and general external martha treatment, paint looks rather dull. https://nashville.craigslist.org/cto/d/nashville-2006-mercedes-w500/7521241209.html ___ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com
