He bought me my first 240D I wouldn't go that quite that far, but I agree that it's generally cheaper in the long run to pay more for a *verifiably good* used car than to buy a cheaper car that has been neglected. Every car and situation is unique though, especially with 20+ year old cars. At that age, very low mileage is almost a negative. It could mean a lot of very short trips which is pretty hard on a car.
