Adjusting the valves every 2k miles got old really fast on my 63 beetle. Fun to drive in the summer, nearly impossible to start in Wisconsin winter.
Max Dillon Charleston SC I took my (1st) wife to the delivery room at Brigham & Womens in the back of a 1963 Beetle, very early in the morning. Everybody was fine. The valve adjusting annoyance was mitigated by replacing the rocker gear studs with an insert and bolts. VW official.
