Anecdotal evidence I've heard suggests that the 210s self-destruct the
way you describe in salt country, but elsewhere do OK, although never
as rust-resistant as the older or newer cars.

Re: [MBZ] 99 E300 diesel?

2011-07-10 Thread Dave Walton
In my case one side had visible rust staining seeping through cracks in the
paint. The other side had no visual indication of rust but there was plenty of
it underneath the paint and adhesive goo they smeared over things. When I poked
around hard enough the paint peeled off. The goo took a bit of work because
they used so much.

Since then the rusting has increased logarithmically on the rest of the car. It
is impossible to keep up with it. The 82 240D and the 87 SDL's are doing just
fine.

There are actually two W210s here for sale for about this price, this
one and an E320 4matic wagon. Both are tempting in different ways.

This just popped up locally. Thoughts on price?

Are these the ones where the spring perches rust out? What other common

They magnetically attract Chevy Impalas in grocery parking lots?
(at least the silver W210s do)
