Yeah, I am following the instructions at: http://www.maciverse.com/install-os-x-snow-leopard-from-usb-flash-drive.html 1. Open Disk Utility and select the Flash Drive 2. Select the Erase tab on the right and then set Format to Mac OS Extended (Journaled). Name the partition

I see part of the problem. the disk utility is supposed to have a "Partition " tab that lets you install the GUID. Mine (10.6.8) has only 4 tabs; first aid, erase, RAID, restore. **Prior message:*** Yeah, I am following the instructions at:

Format the USB drive first. Put it in, run Disk Utility, and create a single partition on it that is Mac OS Extended. Screw the erase stuff, that’s silly. As you know, creating a new partition on it will blow anything that’s on it away, so erasing is moot. If you just bought the USB drive,

In Disk Utility, you’ll see both the physical disk, then the volume that’s on it below. You won’t see the Partition tab unless you’re highlighting the physical disk, NOT the volume. Dan > On Nov 16, 2015, at 4:49 PM, Curly McLain via Mercedes > wrote: > > I see
