You also want to pull a vacuum for a while to be sure all the moisture boils
out. Especially when you have had the system open and replaced parts.

Got the AC machine hooked up and pulled a vacuum for 10 minutes followed by a
10 minute leak test. It passed. Now I have it set to pull a vacuum for an hour
while I go in and get some lunch. After opening up a system I always pull
vacuum for an hour. Is this overkill? What does everyone else do?
